Music Ministry

Music at Signal Pres

For all people of Signal Pres and across all generations, we view music as a means
to worship, teach biblical truths, equip us for Christ-like living, proclaim the gospel,
and minister to the needs of those in our community and beyond. We invite each of
you into this vision.

As you participate in worship on Sunday morning, you are already a part of our
most important music group—the congregation.  We highly value congregational
singing and engagement.

With an intentional order of worship, you’ll find our services include music that
ranges from classic hymns to more recently composed worship songs.  The 9 AM
service has a traditional aesthetic and incorporates hymns led by a choir and
accompanied most often by the organ.  The 11 AM service is informal and includes
songs led by a worship band.

I love my "choir family!" We share each other's joys, concerns, sorrows,
and pray with and for each other. I always look forward to our times together.

COME JOIN US!

Our musical family represents a wide range of backgrounds and skill levels.  We offer several opportunities for adults, students, and children to hone their skills, serve, and simply do life together among others with similar interests. Whether you are an experienced musician or an enthusiastic amateur, there’s a place for you!

SANCTUARY CHOIR

Singing most frequently at the 9 AM worship service, the Sanctuary Choir presents choral anthems and leads congregational singing.  They are a warm and welcoming group.  As they enjoy meaningful fellowship and take time to pray for one another, they have been referred to as a large-sized small group.  In addition to leading
weekly worship, they participate in special concerts, services, and events.  The choir is open to all adults.

Rehearsals: Wednesdays, 7-8:30 PM during the school year in the Cornerstone Music Suite

WORSHIP BAND

Leading primarily at the 11 AM worship service, our worship team is a group of musicians whose primary mission is to help create a space where the church comes
together to center our hearts on Who we're worshipping and respond to God's never-ending, ever-chasing love. In addition to vocalists, our team includes those
who play guitar, percussion, keyboard, violin, and more.  We welcome experienced musicians as well as find ways to grow the next generation of worship leaders.

Rehearsals: Sundays, 9 AM in the Warehouse and continues at 10 AM in the Sanctuary

WESTMINSTER SINGERS

Westminster Singers (grades 3-5) experience discipleship through music as they learn to sing, develop skills, accompany songs and anthems with instruments, hear
God’s word, and minister to others by leading in worship, singing in concerts, and participating in special events.

Rehearsals: Wednesdays, 4:50-6 PM in the Cornerstone Music Suite (with light dinner provided)

YOUTH CHOIR

The Youth Choir (grades 6-12) focuses on developing beautiful singing in a variety of musical styles, music reading skills, and growing together spiritually. The choir leads worship regularly during the school year and participates in special concerts and
events.  Outside of Signal Pres, you may hear them singing at a Chattanooga Lookouts game or caroling in the community at Christmas.  In addition, they
occasionally collaborate with other youth choirs in festivals and workshops.  Recent end-of-year activities have included singing at the National Cathedral (Washington, DC) and leading worship at other churches in Tennessee, Georgia and North
Carolina.

Rehearsals: Sundays, 4:30-5:45 PM in the Cornerstone Music Suite
There’s nothing better I can do with the talent God gave me than to offer it back to him in worship.
