EMBRACE MINISTRY
Embrace Ministry seeks to provide support, community, respite, and education for families who may have exceptional needs or circumstances. Our hope is that as a church we would follow Jesus’ calling in welcoming all individuals, regardless of need, and Embrace them into the body of Christ.
WHAT SUPPORT DOES EMBRACE OFFER FAMILIES?
Embrace offers support for preschoolers, children, youth, and adults within the context of any church programming. This may look like one-to-one support, use of a sensory room, or the creation of an individualized support plan that allows a family or individual to participate successfully in the life of the church.
WHAT IS AN EXCEPTIONAL NEED THAT COULD REQUIRE SUPPORT?
Embrace supports families who have a variety of needs – whether it is a defined diagnosis or a need that arises due to a special circumstance, such as foster care or adoption. As the needs of our community change, we aim to grow and adapt alongside them to ensure that everyone may participate in the life of the church. If you are new to Signal Pres or would like to get involved with Embrace, please get in touch. We would love to learn how we can best serve and enjoy you and your family!
I’D LIKE TO PARTICIPATE! WHAT’S THE NEXT STEP?
Embrace Ministry offers several programs for individuals and families with a variety of needs. Take a minute to check out those programs below, and then please fill out the interest form to help us better understand how we can serve you and your family. Cara Rock, Director of Embrace Ministry, will review your responses and reach out to set up a time to talk. We find that having an opportunity to introduce ourselves to each other enables us to make the best accommodations possible for your family.
NightOWLS
NightOWLS meets twice a month to provide respite for families that have children (ages 6 months–13) with disabilities. Volunteers serve as 1:1 friends during a fun-filled evening of activities as we care for children with disabilities and their typical siblings–while their parents get a much needed night out! Volunteers are the heart and soul of NightOWLS. In addition to 1:1 volunteers, we’re always looking for help with crafts, games, and a variety of other roles. YOUNG LIFE CAPERNAUM
Signal Pres partners with Young Life Capernaum. Young Life Capernaum clubs provide a place for young people of all ability levels (ages 14-22) to come build meaningful relationships, have fun, and hear about Jesus! For more info contact Christina Dowlen, Director of YL Capernaum.

About Us
Get to know more about what makes us different.
Twenty-six percent of the US population are individuals with disabilities. This makes them the largest unreached people group. Too often they and their families do not attend church because they feel unwelcome, unseen and even unwanted.
Yet, Jesus commands us in Luke 14:21 to “Go out quickly into the streets and alleys of the town and bring in the poor, the crippled, the blind and the lame.” And in 1 Corinthians 12:22-23, we read, “The parts of the body that seem to be weaker are indispensable, and on those parts of the body that we think less honorable we bestow the greater honor.”

Christ has created each and everyone of us with a purpose (Eph 2:10) and we are each fearfully and wonderfully made (Ps 139:14) in the image of God (Gen 1:27).
Here at Signal Pres, the Embrace and NightOwls Ministries are serving inidividuals and families affected by disability. There is only ONE prerequisite to serving in these ministries, and it is loving well! By welcoming individuals, seeing them as Jesus sees them – indispensable, and making them know they are wanted here at Signal Pres, you are serving as the hands and feet of Christ.
