Music Ministry

Music at Signal Pres

For all people of Signal Pres and across all generations, we view music as a means to worship, teach biblical truths, equip us for Christ-like living, proclaim the gospel, and minister to the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of those in our community and beyond. All are invited into that vision on Sunday mornings as we participate in worship and singing together.

Within a fairly structured order of worship, you’ll find our services include music that ranges from classic hymns with organ accompaniment to newly composed songs accompanied by a band. Oftentimes a choir, small ensemble, or soloist will help lead us. The 9 AM service has a traditional aesthetic with mostly hymns led by the choir, and the 11 AM, or Informal service, incorporates a more varied blend of styles usually led by a band
I love my "choir family!" We share each other's joys, concerns, sorrows,
and pray with and for each other. I always look forward to our times together.
-Mary Lynn, Sanctuary Choir

Music offerings

Our musical family represents a wide range of backgrounds and skill levels: some are professionals, most are not. We offer several opportunities for adults, students, and children to hone their skills, serve, and simply do life together among others with similar interests. Whether you are an experienced musician or an enthusiastic amateur, there’s a place for you!.

SANCTUARY CHOIR

Sanctuary Choir is our primary adult musical ensemble. They lead worship weekly in services and in sacred concerts throughout the year. The Choir is open to anyone interested.

Rehearsals: Wednesdays, 7-8:30 PM during the school year in the Cornerstone Music Suite.

WORSHIP BAND

This small ensemble combines guitar, percussion, keyboard and other instruments to lead worship.

Rehearsals: Sundays, 10 AM in the Sanctuary.

WESTMINSTER SINGERS

Westminster Singers (grades 3-5) members learn to sing skillfully and beautifully, learn to read music and develop musical skills, accompany songs and anthems with instruments, explore God’s word, and minister to God’s people by leading in worship, concerts, and productions.

Rehearsals: Wednesdays, 4:50-6 PM in the Cornerstone Music Suite.

YOUTH CHOIR

The Youth Choir (grades 6-12) focuses on developing beautiful singing in a variety of musical styles, music reading skills, and growing together spiritually. Students have the opportunity to lead worship regularly in church services and in concerts. They also enjoy sharing their gifts in the community for events such as Chattanooga Lookouts games and caroling. Additionally, the Youth Choir has the opportunity to collaborate with other youth choirs in festivals and workshops.

Rehearsals: Sundays, 4:30-5:45 PM in the Cornerstone Music Suite.
There’s nothing better I can do with the talent God gave me than to offer it back to him in worship.
