Serve: chattanooga 2023 RECAP

Serve: Chattanooga! What a marvelous week spent with 33 awesome middle school students and 9 incredible adult leaders! 

What is Serve: Chattanooga? It’s our middle school mission trip for completed 6-8th grade students. Each year we take a week out of the summer to serve alongside some of Signal Pres’ local ministry partners: Hope for the Inner City, Project 52, and Widows Harvest. These are three remarkable ministries that have cared for and loved the city and people of Chattanooga for many years. It is a real gift to learn from them and serve alongside them. 

For the duration of the week Hope for the Inner City was our “home base.” We lived in close quarters, enjoyed yummy meals, served long, played hard, learned how to take speed showers, grew in our knowledge about the city in which we live, and enjoyed worship and biblical teaching each evening. Spending a week with students like this and living life alongside them is such a delight. I’m convinced middle schoolers know how to make anything fun and can turn anything into a game! They really are some of the greatest people we know!
