VISIT SIGNAL PRES

VISIT SIGNAL PRES

Signal Pres has been around a while-almost 100 years. There are aspects of our services, our membership, and even our campus that reflect this history. But as a community learning to live as the faithful presence of Jesus’ love we’re more focused on our future together than our past. There is a vibrancy and excitement for who we are becoming together and for the mission we are committed to carrying out in our homes, communities, city, and world. It is our hope that what you experience at Signal Pres reflects just that.

What you’ll see

On any given Sunday, you’ll see about 800-1,000 people across all services. There’s a wide diversity of ages and life stages in our community, with the largest population being families with younger children. Visitors often ask us about what to wear; we wholehearted encourage you to come dressed as you feel comfortable, whether that’s jeans or a suit.

What you’ll hear

Worship services at Signal Pres are fairly structured with moments of worship and liturgy, followed by a sermon, and regular but not weekly celebration of baptism and communion.

We have two styles of worship. The philosophy and liturgy are identical at each one, but the way in which we live those out differs as we hope to make our services accessible and comprehensible to as wide a range of people as possible.

The Traditional Service (9 AM) is more formal in its style. There we use mostly older hymns, a choir, and mostly an organ and piano. Pastors wear black robes, a traditional way of signifying them as preachers of the gospel and shepherds of our flock.

In the informal service (11 AM), we use a wide range of hymns and songs, some new and some old. Instrumentation is usually a combination of piano, guitar, strings, drums, etc…. The singing is led by a smaller group of singers, and the pastors will be dressed much like everyone else.

Youll find a variety of ages at both services, and youre always free to go back and forth between the two.

SUNDAYS FOR KIDS

We think worship is important for all ages, so we value kids in worship and want them to be with us as soon as possible. We have nursery available for children from birth to age 3. Kids age 4-Kindergarten are able to participate in Kingdom Kids, which dismisses from the service before the sermon.

DISCIPLESHIP

While there remain some Adult Sunday School classes that meet at various locations and times, our primary avenues for discipleship are Wednesday Nights for ages 4-Grade 12, and Community Groups, Adult Discipleship Groups, and a variety of Adult learning environments offered throughout the year. For each program, we offer integrative services for kids and adults with additional needs to ensure that all people are able to participate in the life and ministry of Signal Pres. This is coordinated through our Embrace Ministry.

Be OuR Guest

Showing up at a new church can be overwhelming. And truthfully, ours can be a bit of a maze. We’d love to set you up with a Host who can help you navigate your way around when you decide to visit. Also, after the service, be sure to stop by the Greeting Room adjacent to the Sanctuary for a little “thanks for visiting” gift. If we can answer any questions before your first visit, don’t hesitate to reach out!
