Co-Director of Student Ministry

Hi, I’m Jackson! I’ve been serving as a Director of Student Ministries since August 2020.

I grew up in Orlando, FL (the midwest of the southeast), and was a verifiable Church Kid™. From there, I went to college near Pittsburgh, PA to study Entrepreneurship, but graduated with a degree in Philosophy, to see if my parents would move to a house with a basement I could live in. They didn’t, so I stayed in Pittsburgh, got married to Martha Mihm, and started working towards a seminary degree. 

In early 2020, we realized that 20 straight years of school might be just a little too much, and started the search for a ministry position that God ultimately used to bring us here! 

I believe with everything in me that the most vital thing any of us could ever have is knowledge of the inestimable love of God shown in Christ crucified for us. I’m grateful to be in a church where that love is preached, taught, and lived, week in and week out. 

My passion for student ministry is grounded in the example of the men and women who proclaimed Christ’s love to me, and who walked faithfully with me as I grappled with it in my own life, even long after I graduated.  

You may not know…

I’m a rock climber, and grew up visiting Chattanooga for the bouldering at Little Rock City. Living in Chattanooga was literally my childhood dream!

I also love writing and playing music, including an EP of mostly songs about how great Martha is.

I once produced a black and white sitcom about a Reformation era German family entitled I Love Luther. (OK, that’s not true, but I wish it were.)

Martha and I have an Australian Shepherd puppy named Indie, who is incredibly cute, and incredibly poorly-behaved.
