Beth DuRoy

Director of Kids’ and Youth Music

Beth DuRoy is the Director of Youth and Children’s Music at Signal Mountain Presbyterian Church, Director of Middle School Choir at Baylor School, and teaches studio voice at Covenant College. She holds a M.M. in Vocal Performance from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and a B.S. in Music Education from Bryan College. Beth has taught studio voice at Covenant College, Lee University, the Music Academy of NC, public, private, and performing arts high schools and preschools, and taught K-5 music for the Hamilton County school system for five years.

As a lifelong music educator, Beth has successfully prepared students for regional honors choirs, All-State, Governor’s School, voice competitions, and conservatory and university auditions. Beth coaches both high school and collegiate choral and musical theatre productions, most recently at Signal Mountain Middle High School, and adjudicates annually at regional NATS competitions. Additionally she has directed choirs and taught music at Westminster Presbyterian Greensboro, NC, First Baptist Church Burlington, NC, and served as pianist and youth director at Graysville United Methodist Church. Beth has studied music literacy with Carol Kreuger and conducting with Deanna Joseph (Georgia State University) and as a conducting fellow at ASCI.

Beth is deeply committed to leading and equipping God’s people in worship, and is passionate about helping students build confidence as they build their speaking and singing voices for the glory of God. Additionally, Beth is active in the Chattanooga community as a soprano soloist and has sung with Asheville Choral Society, Asheville Opera, Chattanooga Bach Choir, Opera TN, and Chattanooga Symphony and Opera. She has given recitals at Hunter Museum of Art, Bryan College, Southern Adventist University, UTC, and Covenant College.

Beth is married to Jason and together they have four children. She enjoy walks on the Riverwalk, traveling to visit family, and trips to the Florida beaches.
