Senior Pastor
Scott and his wife Amanda have been married since 2003. They have four children. All six Bowens moved to Signal Mountain from Opelika, Alabama in 2014 when Scott began serving at Signal Pres.
That move was something of a ‘homecoming’ for Scott and Amanda. Scott was on staff at Signal Pres from 2000-2004 as a Youth Director, and he and Amanda first met at the Mountain Opry in 2001. After getting married they moved to Massachusetts, where Scott attended Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. In 2007, the Bowens moved to Opelika where Scott served as the pastor of First Presbyterian Church for almost eight years.
Scott grew up in Nashville, TN. and attended the University of North Carolina. At the heart of his vision for ministry are Paul’s words to the Ephesian elders in Acts 20:28: “Pay careful attention to yourselves and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he obtained with his own blood.” Outside of the church, you’re likely to see Scott on the roads training for marathons or at various sporting and school events with the family.
Scott recently defended his dissertation in fulfillment of the Doctor of Ministry degree from Reformed Theological Seminary.
