SM2 is the Student Ministry of Signal Mountain Presbyterian Church. We have a solid staff, tremendous adult leaders, and a church with the vision to love teenagers, welcome them into its family, disciple them in Jesus Christ, and move them into mission.
“Our vision is simple – We present every student with the transforming gospel of Jesus, equipping them personally to live in his love and serve in his name.” We hang onto a short list of core values to keep our temperature set on these priorities – seeking students in Jesus’ love, feeding them with God’s word, loving them in small groups, leading them well, and aiming for lifelong discipleship. Our heart is to partner with parents for maximum influence in the lives of students.
Sunday mornings at SMPC are filled with fellowship, teaching, and worship for all ages. While our student ministry devotes Wednesday nights to creating the best discipleship environment for students and with adult leaders, Sunday morning gives us a chance to equip the family for discipleship at home.
“Family Cafe” is all about middle schoolers, high schoolers, and parents together (9:15-10:30). We try to create a simple, interactive teaching experience that parent and students can share in the hopes that it sparks and fuels your conversations and life together at home during the week. Our coffee house set-up in the youth wing gives us a relaxed environment for conversation and connection before we roy into a teaching time for parents and students together. We explore the same material form the Gospel Project that the kids’ ministry uses so the whole family has a chance to be on the same page.
Note: Parents, you are also welcome to attend any other Sunday School options (like the Faith and Family Class that meets in the Pit), but we hope you will consider joining us!
Wednesday night D-Groups are the core of our student ministry. Follow the lines for more, but D-Groups [Discipleship Groups] are SM2’s community of students (same grade and gender) and adult leaders that meet on Wednesday nights during the school year.
